Bill Service Memorial Student Scholarship Fund
The band also accepts donations to go towards providing scholarships to help young players purchase their own instruments and attend music camps and highland music competitions which adds to their skill, instruction and music experience.
In 2012 Fund donations went towards the purchase of a new set of bagpipes in memory of Bill Service, a long time member of the band, who passed away in 2010. Bill's life long enthusiasm and commitment to piping influenced many students over the years and it was felt that making a set of pipes available to help a novice player continue in the art would be the best tribute we could make to Bill, and keep his enthusiasm for piping alive.
Band Sponsorship: Donations & Scholarships
The band welcomes any businesses or individuals who might like to sponsor or make donations to the band to further it's purpose.
Any sponsorships or donations directly assists the band to purchase and maintain instruments; maintain and purchase uniforms and help cover transportation costs to performances. Donations help offset band expenses, especially those of the young players in the band.
The band would be happy to carry your company's banner in a parade or recognize your contribution with a link on the band website or Faceboook page acknowledging your generosity
In 2013, this fund was used to support 11 students attend the Fall Fusion Piping & Drumming Workshop in Brantford Ontario, and 12 students in 2014.
This fund also assisted the band in bringing the talents of world class players and instructors Doug Stronach and Andrew Elliott, who provide instruction to our Snare, Bass and Tenor drummers.
St Andrews Pipes & Drums have been involved with Rama Gaming Centre & Bingo, in Mississauga, since 2017. This activity helps to finance a lot of our capital costs (uniforms, drums, instructors, etc.) in the continued function of the band.
